Song for 20/11/2012

Christopher Merser, aka Rusko’s a dubstep record producer and DJ from Leeds.

His huge breakthrough came from his ultimate hit Cockney Thug which appealed to many DJs and consequently appeared on multiple DJ sets from the likes of Pete Thong, M.I.A. and many others.

So far Rusko has released 4 albums – FabricLive.37, O.M.G.!, Songs and Cypress X Rusko, the first and the last ones being collaborations with Caspa and Cypress Hill.

So far Rusko ‘s 2012 seems to be going quite well as he has released his second full-length album – Songs. The sound of the album can’t be defined as it is very eclectic – ranging between reggae, tribal, dance, dub and drum & bass.

He has also released his 5 track EP Cypress X Rusko which is a colourful mix of hip-hop and dubstep. It can serve as inspiration to future generations as the end result is bloody fantastic.

Recently, after his fallout with Mad Decent Records, he decided to release his music on his own and so he did – The Kapow EP could be downloaded for free at . In order to get it, you’d either have to provide your e-mail or ‘pay’ with a Twitter or Facebook post.

He has been featured in magazines such as DJ Mag, MixMag and NME.

Rusko’s still on tour in North America, which started off on October 26 in Chicago and will be ending November 24 in Pomona Beach, FL and it is a mix between classic rave and dubstep.

If Rusko’s your cup of tea – have a look at the video and download his free EP – it’s totally worth it!
